Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum
Learn about Mississippi’s aviation history with facts, historical artifacts, audio/visual media, and real airplanes! Exhibit areas include a Bases Gallery, which highlights the military bases in the state from as early as 1917 to the present.
Step into the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum, a 33,000 sq. foot facility brimming with 22 galleries that promise to thrill and educate visitors of all ages. Take control of an airplane with our interactive simulator, engage in a hands-on lesson on physics, and be enthralled by the planes in action at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art celebrates the innovative, independent, and creative spirit of their namesake, Mississippi master potter George Ohr (1857-1918). In a fitting tribute to Ohr, artist and architect Frank Gehry designed an award-winning campus of bold, intriguing, self-sufficient structures. Pascagoula River Audubon Center
Adventure awaits at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center (PRAC) in Moss Point. The Center is the educational gateway to exploring nature and bayou habitats by offering educational programming for school groups while featuring local nature themes, a step back in time with the historic trolley ticket booth and Scout Hut, and hands-on learning opportunities to fit your needs. Daytime visitors can discover the outdoors on the nature trails, bayou pier, bird feeders, critter tanks, art gallery, kayak rentals, gift shop, and more!
TrainTastic
Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum’s TrainTastic™ is a combination of model train displays in all gauges! Guests will be wowed by some of the country's largest, most scenic, and interactive model railroad exhibits. As they follow the mini-trains throughout the museum, guests can “travel” to see the world's wonders while strolling along mountain vistas, rivers, coastlines, fields of gold, farms, factories, and more!
Guests can ride on a real train car as they enter a space that honors the period when trains were crucial to our country: the 1950’s. Numerous S.T.E.A.M.-inspired activities emphasizing science, technology, engineering, art, and math will entertain young and old visitors while sharpening their problem-solving skills. A one-of-a-kind climber will help visitors burn off their energy physically with its wild tangle of ramps, nets, tunnels, slides, stairs, and railroad-themed play spaces. Then, a mini model town with two-story buildings that doubles as a birthday party space will make visitors feel like they’re back in the 1950s.
For more than three decades, the Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) has delighted and empowered visitors through the works of Walter Inglis Anderson and kindred artists. The Museum is located in downtown Ocean Springs, blocks from the Mississippi Sound, where they interpret and champion Coastal culture and the Southern landscape.
